Maincor’s recognition that it’s strength in the marketplace is in providing the highest possible standards of technical support, design, site assistance and really fast delivery has led to its founder in the UK, Rod Hickmott, being appointed council member at BSRIA.
Rod launched the first MLCP systems into the UK in the mid 90’s, at the same time opening up the then tiny underfloor heating market to heating merchants and installers.
In order to create credible platform and give the trades confidence in the use of these new technologies, he worked closely with BSRIA.
First in BSRIAs industry response to Sir John Egan’s challenge top the construction industry to use more innovative techniques in construction and then as the organizing sponsor of the first definitive design guides for Underfloor Heating.
Following this, he worked with BSRIA to develop datasheets for innovative UFH in intermediate floors and BSRIAs groundbreaking datasheet proving installed cost and time benefits in installing MLCP instead of copper.
Rod has also been a big supporter and part sponsor of BSRIAs annual briefing to the industry held at the Brewery Conference Centre every November.
Of his appointment, Rod said ‘I started my first company in the industry at a time when BSRIA was in a really dynamic phase of encouraging the use of innovation in our industry. Its work in areas like soft landings, whole life costings and BIM have all played a tremendous role in enhancing the built environment. I’m really pleased to join the BSRIA council whose job it is to assist in steering and supporting the association’s work.’
