Maincor are pleased to have partnered with Danish manufacturer LOGSTOR, to supply the Flextra range of pre-insulated pipes in the UK. The systems are ideal for connecting buildings to external renewable heat sources such as heat pumps and biomass boilers. The extremely low heat loss of Flextra pipe, means that hot water or heating water can be supplied into the buildings from the remote heat source maintaining the water temperature as it travels underground, ensuring a high level of energy efficiency, and saving money on running costs for the end user.
The range includes both heating (PexFlextra) and hot water (SaniFlextra) pipe solutions and is available with single or twin internal pipe configurations to provide flexibility around the project design. All Flextra pipes include a built-in diffusion barrier to retain full insulation properties throughout the entire service life of the pipe meaning that the thermal performance won’t degrade over time. Due to the PUR ‘Super-foam’ lining, Flextra Pipe has class leading lambda insulation properties of 0.0207 W/mK, the low heat losses improves energy efficiency and reduces CO2 emissions from the building.
Flextra pipe is also ideal for projects applying for the RHI (Renewable Heat Incentive) scheme. In addition to the very low heat losses which will improve the application, the product meets the European product standard EN 15632 as is required by the RHI, and OFGEM have recognised the product as being “properly insulated”, meaning that associated heat loss can be disregarded for each individual external pipe that is 10m or less in length or where the annual average heat loss in kWhth from all external pipe is less than 3% of the projected annual output of the plant in kWhth.
Flextra Pipe’s excellent flexibility stems from a unique combination of the new corrugated outer casing and a newly formulated softer cellular insulation foam. Easy to bend by hand, Flextra Pipe is simple to install with the minimum amount of disturbance to the local area – the small bend radius allows it to work around existing buildings and natural features, also making it ideal for even the most congested of sites.
In addition to pre-insulated pipe the Flextra system includes a full range of accessories such as DZR brass fittings and connectors plus insulation sets. The wide range of products available for Flextra makes the system perfect for use in larger scale installations such as community heating projects, which will typically have a central heat source (such as a biomass plant) supplying multiple buildings on the site. Maincor’s range of fittings and accessories are perfect for joining Flextra Pipes whilst enabling the low heat loss performance of the system to be maintained across the project.
Maincor can provide all of the backup you may need for your project with a dedicated technical department on hand to produce quotations and advise on design and installation with a fast turnaround time – including project specific technical data and heat loss information. The Flextra Pipe can also be supplied cut to the required length to minimise installation time and wastage on site.
